Safety Guide

Please be sure to strictly observe the following items so that you can perform grinding work more safely.

For safe use of grinding wheels

The person who installs the grinding wheel

Regarding the safe work of the grinding wheelSpecially educated personTo install. [(Law) Article 59, (Rule) Article 36]

Inspection of grinding wheel

Do not use a grinding wheel that has defects such as cracks or scratches.
Also, lightly tap the side of the grinding wheel with a wooden hammer to inspect the tapping sound.
[Safety must-have]

Correct flange and packing

The diameter of the flange is generally 1/3 or more of the diameter of the grinding wheel, and both diameters should be equal.
Also, use packing or labels for tightening. [(Structural standard) Articles 15-19, safety essential]

Protective covers

Be sure to attach a protective cover for the grinding wheel to the grinding machine. [(Rule) Article 117]
The thickness of the protective cover, opening angle, etc. shall be those specified in the structural standard. [(Structural Standards) Articles 3 and 20-29]

Peripheral speed of grinding wheel

Use within the range that does not exceed the maximum operating peripheral speed indicated on the grinding wheel.
[(Rule) Article 119, (Structural Rule) Articles 8-9]
"Diameter of grinding wheel (m) x 3.14 x rotation speed of shaft (rpm) ≤ maximum peripheral speed (m / sec)"
For small (diameter less than 75 mm) grinding wheels for which the maximum peripheral speed is not displayed, except for ring type, cup type, or magnesia method grinding wheels, the vitrified method is generally 33 m/sec or less, and the grinding wheel. Use the one at 50m/sec or less. Use a resinoid reinforcing grinding wheels for cutting at 80 m / sec or less.

Precautions when installing a new grinding wheel

Test run of grinding wheel

When a new grinding wheel is replaced, the person who installed it (specially educated person) should perform a test run (idle) for at least 3 minutes.
Also, test run for at least 1 minute before starting work for the day.
[(Law) Article 59, (Rule) Article 36, Article 118]

Surface of use of grinding wheel

Since the surface to be used is determined by the shape of the grinding wheel, do not use any surface other than the specified surface.
[(Rule) Article 120, Safety Essentials]

After grinding work is completed

In the case of wet grinding, after the work is completed, stop water injection and run the grinding wheel for 1 minute or more (idle) to remove water from the grinding wheel.
